Sergiev Posad used to be the central monastery of the Russian Orthodox church so called Trinity-Serviev Lavra. This place is considered to be essential for pilgrims visiting. Trinity-Sergiev Lavra is a unique ensemble which unites architectural styles of the several epochs. The major cathedral of the Lavra - Trinity cathedral is remarkable for its frescoes created by Andrey Rublev. Pereslavl-Zalessky is a quiet provincial town with its history dated back to XII century. This town is the birth place of Alexander Nevsky. He was baptized in the small church which is extant and located onto the central alley of the town. New Jerusalem monastery was founded in 1656 by bishop Nikon as a private residence. It was supposed to symbolize "the third Rome" but unexpectedly the construction was interrupted due to certain changes in the government. Thus, the layout of the monastery and its outskirts resemble real Jerusalem. Whole complex exhibits Moscow baroque architectural style. Zvenigirod is small satellite town adjacent to Moscow. Savino-Storozhevski monastery which is located there was founded at the end of XIV.

This town set is most likely the most respected among Golden Ring tours. The towns included into this tour are the most ancient in the Golden ring. Yaroslavl has recently celebrated its 1000th anniversary and said to be one of the biggest cities in the Russia central part filled with vast number of orthodox churches and sights with immegoldmorial roots. Sergiev Posad and Rostov are relatively small towns which were played key role in russian religious life. We would suggest visiting these towns first in case havent seen anything around Moscow yet
The Golden Ring tour is recomended for those who would prefer seeing large-scaled bouldings and higher populated areas of Russia

High up on Vladimir's slope above the Klyazma River sits the solemnly majestic Assumption Cathedral, built to announce Vladimir's claim as capital of Rus. These days, Vladimir - 178km east of Moscow - feels more like a modern, provincial town than an ancient capital. Nonetheless, the grandeur of medieval Vladimir shines through the commotion of this busy, industrial town. Exquisite examples of Russia's most formative architecture, along with some entertaining museums, make Vladimir one of the jewels in the Golden Ring.
We would recommend this Golden Ring tour for those who are keen of visiting small chamber places which are less crowded than other more popular sites
